Weekly Club Notes 28.08.2017

Well done to Keith Harcombe, Kevin Williams and Calvin Hollis who together with Clarke Logan of Umgeni Waterfall were edged into second place by half a point by Gilbert Wyatt’s side at the prestigious Winter tournament at Collegians as well as to Wilma Halvorsen, Heather Bezuidenhout, Pam Spring and Harriet Sydenham who also finished second in this tournament.

Our next Wednesday mixed fours sponsored by Polly Shorts Pick n Pay and J Leslie Attorneys takes place on 6 September at 8.30.
All bowlers are welcome at our formal tabs in at 8.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays and 1.30 Saturdays. Be advised of sporadic road closures this Saturday due to the World paraplegic cycling champs in the park this weekend.
Winners of the August Tricky Thursday were Dave Mayo, Dick Edwards and Tim Goodricke. The top three accumulated points over eight months are Suva Pillay 48, Tim Goodricke 43 and Dick Edwards on 40.
Informal bowls on Fridays at 2pm and Sundays at 9.30 is available to everyone. Woods are available and coaching can be arranged. Last Sundays lucky draw chicken winners were Kalla Ellis, Duncan Parsons and Herman Miller with Celensski Everton sipping the presidents first touch free drink.
The Kitchen is open Tuesdays to Sundays for breakfast and lunch with Sunday lunch being a traditional roast. Curry and lasagne is on offer Thursday evenings to eat in or take away. 
The Friday 6pm attendance draw stands at R1800. Every member is automatically entered but must be in attendance to win. If not the amount accumulates by R100. Satha Moodley was drawn last Friday but was sadly not present. An evening meal and meat draws are also on offer.
