Weekly Club Notes 20.11.2017

Wilma Halvorsen, Pam Spring, Geraldine van Rooyen and Harriet Sydenham as well as Keith Harcombe, Bob Radcliffe, Brad Burne and Calvin Hollis did us proud by reaching the final of the Niba ladies and mens district fours. Unfortunately both sides went down in their respective finals on the last end.
Congratulations to Kevin Williams and Neil Ashton on winning the mens Club drawn pairs. Runners up were Errol Agnew and Harry Brown.
Entries are closed for our annual Specsavers Atholl Wood men’s fours to be played this Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. Those not playing should come down and watch some good sides compete for great prizes.
Breakfast pairs has concluded for the year and will not be played this Saturday.
Our end of year function and prizegiving takes place on Thursday 14 December at 6pm. The cost is R50 with finger snacks on offer.
All bowlers are welcome at our formal tabs in at 8.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays.
There will be no informal bowls this Sunday due to all three greens being occupied by Atholl Wood bowlers. Last Sunday lucky draw chicken winners were Paul Fletcher, Duncan Parsons and Amanda Mustard with George Farren sipping on the presidents first touch free drink.
The kitchen is open Tuesdays to Sundays for breakfast and lunch. There will be no roast this Sunday lunch due to the number of Atholl Wood bowlers to be catered for. Instead small meals will be on offer to spectators.
All members are entered automatically into our weekly 6pm Friday attendance draw but must be present to win. It now stands at R700 with an evening meal and meat draw on offer as well. Thanks go to Save Butchery for their sponsorship in this regard.
