Weekly Bowls Notes 29.01.2018

Well done Keith Harcombe and Brad Burne on winning our January E&C Charcoal Breakfast pairs. They were followed by Ashley Kleingeld and Bruce Thomas.
The Niba men’s and ladies open pairs commence on Sunday 18 February. Place your entries on the board on or before 4 February.
Good luck to all Niba Quadrangular bowlers this weekend. The men are at Toti and the ladies at Stella in Durban.
Our February Wednesday fours sponsored by Polly Shorts Pick n Pay and J Leslie Attorneys take place on February 7 at 8.30.
All bowlers are welcome at our formal tabs in (T T bowls) 8.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays and 2pm Saturdays. The January “Tricky Thursday” winners were Mike Wilson, Heinz Venter and Win Whitear.
Informal bowls on Fridays at 2pm and Sundays at 9.30 is available to everyone. New bowlers receive guidance from experienced bowlers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Woods are available at the club. Last Sunday lucky draw chicken winners were Alfie Smith, Elaine van Rooyen and Johan Barkhuizen with George Farren sipping on the presidents first touch free drink.
Our 6pm Friday attendance draw stands at R1400. All members are entered automatically but must be present to win. The evening includes a meat draw sponsored by Save Butchery and an evening meal is on offer.
A special Valentines evening dinner is on offer on Wednesday February 14. At a cost of R125 per head the menu consists of a prawn and avo starter, lamb roast with mint peas, glazed carrots, small garlic potatoes and rice followed by a chocolate and strawberry dessert. The kitchen is open Tuesdays to Sundays for breakfast and lunch with Sunday lunch being a traditional roast for R60.
Curry and lasagne is on offer Thursday evenings to eat in or take away.
MBC is a drop off area for ” Water for Paws” destined for animal shelters in the Cape. Please support the cause and drop off with the barman.
