Weekly Club Notes 20.08.2018

R12 000 is what the winners get at the MBC Pro 10 pairs on Saturday September 8. Second place gets R6 000 with further cash prizes on offer. There will be no Breakfast pairs this month due to the annual Winter tournament at Collegians.
All bowlers are welcome at our formal tabs in at 8.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays (T T bowls). The August Tricky Thursday winners were Jan Beukes, Alan Boyd and Mike Hill followed by Ian Fyvie, Ian Bevis and Tim Goodricke. The accumulated points leader is now Heinz Venter who is 1 point ahead of Tim Goodricke followed by Mike Hill. Positions 1 to 9 are separated by 8 points with 4 rounds to go.
Informal bowls on Fridays at 2pm and Sundays at 9.30am is available to everyone. Woods are available at the club for new bowlers who are able to learn from experienced bowlers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Last Sunday lucky draw chicken winners were Suva Pillay, Neil Ashton and Kalla Ellis who also scooped the presidents first touch free drink.
Alfie Smith lost out on R1100 by 10 minutes at last week’s 6pm Friday attendance draw. It now stands at R1200 but members must be present to win. The evening includes a popular meat draw sponsored by Save Butchery and tasty meals are on offer.
Tickets at R10 are available at the club for our fund raising “unlock the lock” competition with a draw at 6pm every Thursday. Entrants do not need to be present to win. It stands at R490.
Our kitchen offers well prepared and price-friendly meals for breakfast and lunch Tuesdays to Sundays. Our popular curry plus a tasty alternative is available Thursday evenings to eat in or take away.
