Weekly Club Notes 14.10.2019

Our AGM takes place at 10h00 this Saturday. Instead of complaining, stand for the commitee and/or come and  vote.
Come and support our ladies in the final of the Niba womens fours this Sunday afternoon at MBC. Best of luck to Wilma and her side.
The league continues this Saturday afternoon. Check the board for selections and venues. MBC mens premier A and B sides meet at home. Last week the A side beat Collegians A  7 – 5 while the B side beat West A 10 – 2. Our ladies beat Collegians 8 – 4 and are also at home on Saturday. Come and support good bowls.

Weekly Club Notes 07.10.2019

Well done to Wilma Halvorson, Elna Fraser, Rowena Muir and Harriet Sydenham as well as Roy Fraser, Jack Allen, Errol Agnew and Ken Hooper on winning their sections at the NIBA mens and womens fours. The playoffs take place at MBC this Sunday.
League bowls continues this weekend. Check the board for selections and venues. There were good wins last Saturday for our mens Premier A and second division sides.
Ladies your next ” bowls and lunch ” day is on Friday 18. Play some great bowls and have a tasty and fun meal by contacting Harriet Sydenham at 0834958044. Bowlers from all clubs are welcome.

Weekly Club Notes 30.09.2019

Congratulations Elna Fraser, Wilma Halvorson, Kevin Williams, Keith Harcombe, Calvin Hollis, Errol Agnew and Roy Fraser on their selection for the Niba sides for the quadranguler in March next year. 
Winners of our September Breakfast pairs were Keith Harcombe and Paul Fletcher followed by Mickey Knoesen and Gus Blackbeard.
This Saturday sees the start of league for men and women. Check the board for teams. All MBC sides are at home so support is encouraged.

Congratulations Keith Harcombe, Bob Radcliffe and Paul Fletcher on winning our prestigious annual Archie Allen mens trips.

Breakfast pairs this Saturday is at 8.30. Enter on the board.

The winners of September Tricky Thursday were Dave Moyo, Piet Scheepers and Alan Boyd followed by Harriet Sydenham, Allistair Stott and Dawie du Toit. The overall points leader at end September is Tim Goodricke who is 14 points clear of Rod Braithwaite in second place.

Weekly Club Notes 16.09.2019

Our annual Archie Allen mens trips takes place all day this coming Sunday (8.30).Enter your team on the board or contact Kevin Williams at 0793276288.
The men and women leagues start Saturday October 5. To assist with selections please enter your availability for specific dates on the board.
Good luck to the Niba under 30’s in Germiston from 22 to 25 September. Thanks to all for the wonderful turnout at MBC last Sunday to raise funds for their trip.
Ladies it is not to late to contact Harriet Sydenham at 0834958044 to confirm attendance at tomorrow’s ladies lunch and bowls day (8.30). A great morning of bowls followed by a chat and enjoyable lunch.

Weekly Club Notes 09.09.2019

Calvin Hollis and Paul Fletcher squared off in the semifinals of the West Specsavers 2 bowl singles. Calvin went on to lose to Laylon Howard in the final. Calvin and Paul however both did MBC proud.

Trevor Mccalgan, Jack and Ann Allen and Horse Beeching won our September Wednesday fours sponsored by MBC and J Leslie attorneys. Keith Harcombe, Harry Brown, Tara van Rensburg and Gus Blackbeard finished second.
All bowlers are welcome to participate in our formal tabs in at 8.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays (T T bowls). At end August Tim Goodricke leads the Tricky Thursday points with Dick Edwards nine points adrift in second place.
Ladies phone Harriet Sydenham at 0834958044 to secure a great game of bowls and a tasty lunch on Friday 20 at 8.30. Our Ladies bowls and lunch day is open to all clubs.
The Niba under 30 sides travel to Germiston (22 -25 September) and funds are important. All monies including fines collected this Sunday goes to their worthy cause. Informal spring dress at 9.30. R20 to play. Braai optional.

Weekly Club Notes 02.09.2019

Jack Allen, Ken Hooper and Rod Braithwaite did well to end as semi – finalists of the Niba mens veterans trips.

Trevor Spring, Jack Allen, Roy Fraser and Horse Beeching  (in our colours) did us proud to win the prestigious annual Winter tournament against formidable opposition. Ann Allen was the sole MBC bowler in the ladies side skipped by Gill McCalgan which played well to win the ladies section. 
All bowlers are welcome to participate in our formal tabs in on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8.30 (T T bowls).
On Sunday 15 an informal morning of bowls to raise funds for the Niba under 30 sides takes place at 9.30. Fun and prizes on offer. Jerald Mavhurambuzi, Triston and Celanski Everton  and Scott Fraser are our players in the sides which  travel to Germiston for the national under 30 inter districts at the end of the month.
Informal bowls on Fridays at 1.30 and Sundays at 9.30 is available to everyone. Last Sunday lucky draw chicken winners were Ananda Mustard, Neil Ashton and Hermann Hess while Pranill Bookhan scooped the presidents first touch free drink.

Weekly Club Notes 01.04. 2019

Well done Kevin Williams and Wilma Halvorson on winning their section at the Niba mixed pairs. The play offs commence this Sunday morning at Lynnwood with Kevin and Wilma due to play in the afternoon.
Well done also to Trevor Spring and Ken Hooper who won our March Breakfast pairs.
